AD-USA PREPARES FOR CHIEF BISI AKANDE'S US TOUR

Monday August 22 2005

In preparation for the visit of the National Chairman of AD (Alliance for Democracy), Chief Bisi Akande, the National Executive Committee of Alliance for Democracy, USA Chapter met to prepare a grand reception. Chief Bisi Akande, who is currently energizing the AD nationally and worldwide, will visit the USA and have a meeting with AD-USA members and supporters to apprise them of the developments in the body politic, especially in the party.

At the National Executive Committee meeting of AD-USA chaired by its chairman, Oloye Lekan Awojoodu, the meeting identified and outlined some issues to be addressed with Chief Akande during his visit.

After the meeting, Oloye Awojoodu urged all AD members to please be present at the reception in DC on October 22 2005. The reception also coincides with the birthday celebrations of the AD-USA Chairman who emphasized that this visit will be a great opportunity for all members and friends of AD USA and particularly, all friends of democracy in Nigeria, to meet face to face with the AD National chairman and have frank discussions with him. Urging all to ask the hard questions, he noted that these questions will need to be answered forthrightly, so that AD can take its rightful position in promoting the progress of Nigeria and the entrenchment of democracy in its body politic.

Promising that AD-USA will strongly enter the field come 2007, Oloye Awojoodu pointed out that AD-USA was preparing thoroughly and pledged to make this a strong component of his work in the coming weeks. He also promised to work hard to ensure that AD-USA helps to build the AD platform for progress in Nigeria towards 2007 when AD will take the seat of government through the ballot box.
